They connect to a base unit that works from your home address, which is securely stored in your Bedford Medical Alert profile. In the event of an emergency, help is dispatched directly to that address.

No, the two-way communication does not come from the pendant. For both the Home Freedom Mini Pendant (necklace or wristband) and the Fall Detection Pendant, the voice communication happens through the 2-way voice base machine. This base unit is designed to be louder and clearer, making it ideal for clients who are hard of hearing.

If there’s no response through the base unit, our monitoring centre will then attempt to reach you by calling your home phone and cell phone. If we still can’t make contact, we’ll notify your emergency contacts and dispatch emergency help if needed.
