We have a professional and dedicated team on the ground, which is trained to work face-to-face to discover client and caregiver needs, provide the appropriate solution, carefully set up Bedford’s advanced medical alert technology in-home, and teach families how to use their pendants in the event of an emergency or non-emergency situation.

With thirty-three years of experience, we know that when these steps are not taken, or are rushed, medical alert devices do not become part of a client’s life, and are not there for them at the moment when they are needed most.

The Most Advanced Technology Designed for Family and Caregiver Needs

Bedford Medical Alert is proud to offer GPS Multi-Technology Location Services which help locate clients with dementia who may wander, as well as clients who need assistance outside of their home, anywhere in Canada. When Clients cannot push their button, we offer the most advanced fall detection technology which can call when the client cannot.

Traditional Medical Alert Pendants require communication between a client and a responder via an immobile base station located in home. Bedford Medical Alert’s Two-Way Voice Pendant technology makes communicating with our Care Concierge Responders possible wherever our clients are in their home – particularly when in the bathroom, where accidents are prevalent. Two-way voice pendants also provide the benefit of proportionality; when not within speaking range of the base station, private emergencies can be communicated by the client so that only a family member, rather than protocol EMS dispatch, is alerted, allowing for the continuance of independence and dignity.

Company History

We are proudly Canadian and are centered in the Greater Toronto Area. My father, Michael Yelavich, founded his electronic security and personal emergency response business in 1983. This built on a business founded by my grandfather in 1949.

As the CEO of Bedford Medical Alert, my personal mission is to be a custodian of the values, integrity and passion for client care of my father and grandfather. I expect every member of the Bedford Medical Alert team to care for our clients and caregivers just as our family has done for decades.
